Hi folks. For months now I've been really surpised to hear that central Florida has an active and engaged MTB community, and one of the largest trail systems in the South. "Hidden Gem" comes to mind.
When I ask my girlfriend if she'd be willing to live in Florida, she gives it a resounding "yes please". She's a warm-weather person. Doesn't sweat.
I am a county planner in Pennsylvania, my previous jobs had me as a trail/recreation planner, property maintenance, GIS anaylst, and zoning assistant. I've worked in municipal (local) government, county government, and in land trusts. My professional goal is to give more people more places to do the things they love outdoors.
If anyone works in Planning, GIS Departments, Local Government, Land Trusts, or Parks Departments, I'd be open to a multitude of positions, provided they are full time.
More than that, I've love to work along side others mountain bikers.
Thanks for any info, and I'm sure I'll chime in with questions regarding trail building and general club organization. Here in Erie we've got no formal MTB club, and about 3 road-cycling only clubs. We've got a lot of work to do in on the originization front.
