Santos stands out for receiving IMBA's first Epic designation for an entire trail system.
Santos has emerged as a model trail system, with flowing singletrack, bombproof wooden structures, a bike skills park with progressive challenges and jaw-dropping technical features at the Vortex quarry.” -- IMBA
OMBA holds monthly meetings the Friday evening before every trail workday. This is a great way to get involved, become part of the process, share your ideas or, just meet the volunteers that represent OMBA.
All trails are open. Please do NOT ride the Santos Pump Track and Vortex Dirt Jumps after it's rained!

From the Florida Office of Greenways and Trails
I would like to let you know that starting Monday (7-22-2013) the Cross Florida Greenway plans on fixing the underpass at 49th St. As most of you know if you are traveling from one end to the other ( East to West) you have to go under 49th Ave underpass to continue Westward… This is one of several areas where all trail users must use the same path to get to the other side. Please pass this information along so that you are prepared for your recreational activity and know that no one will be going through while we are working in that area. This project may not be finished for several weeks possibly till the end of August. If you have any further questions please call the office at (352) 236-7143.
We are fortunate to have many miles of trails to offer in other areas. Please plan on using those and parking at the appropriate trail head.

Cross Florida Greenway
In 1993 local volunteers began building trails on land that is part of the Cross Florida Greenways. Consisting of 85,000 acres stretching from the Atlantic coast to the Gulf of Mexico, the Greenways is the state of Florida's crown jewel for outdoor recreation. Today there are over 85 miles of trails with riding levels for everyone, from children to seniors. From flat and smooth, to challenging climbs through the rocky quarries, to 20' drops for the adrenaline junkies. Santos trails have been known for years by all that have ridden there as having something for everyone!
Every March OMBA hosts the Spring Break Fat Tire Festival; 3 days and 2 nights of music, food, friends and riding. Whether you're a hardcore cyclist or a casual cruiser, the Spring Break FTF is a family event enjoyed every year by riders from across the U.S.
there are two popular events:
The Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day gives parents the opportunity to introduce their children to off-road mountain biking. Led by OMBA Bike Patrol members, your child will experience the joy of exploring Florida's outdoors, on beginner trails, followed by a free lunch and gifts for the young ones.
