Thanks to OMBA and the OMBA Bike Patrol, October 6, 2007 Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day event at the Santos Trailhead was a great success!

Patrollers Joan Bernat, Rob Ern, Mike Stevens, Curt Reffner, Glenn "Vader" Hawks, and Kevin and Tim Mulhall combined efforts to set up the event and activities. All kids participating were given a goodie bag containing IMBA swag, and were also entered into a raffle for some great prizes, including awesome jerseys by Primal Wear, t-shirts, and other prizes.
After a brief introduction, the kids were given an opportunity to ride on the skills park before leaving the parking lot for a short trail ride. The trail ride was split into two groups to accommodate older and younger kids alike. After the ride, OMBA served up some good food to all the parents and kids and a fun time was had by all.
Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day is an annual event sponsored nationally by the International Mountain Bicycling Association in cooperation with local bike clubs. OMBA would like to express our thanks to everyone involved, including IMBA, OGT, Clif Bar, Primal Wear Jerseys and Market of Marion, for making the 2007 event a huge success...
